Crispy baked sweet chili wings coated in a sticky, flavorful sauce make for an irresistible appetizer or snack that’s easy to prepare and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken wings
  • 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
  2. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. Season them with salt and pepper.
  3. Toss wings with olive oil to coat evenly. Arrange wings on the wire rack in a single layer.
  4. Bake wings for 40-45 minutes, turning halfway through, until crispy and cooked through.
  5. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk together sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, garlic, ginger, and chili flakes.
  6. When wings are done, transfer to a large bowl and pour the sauce mixture over them. Toss to coat thoroughly.
  7. Return coated wings to the baking sheet and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes to set the glaze.
  8. Remove from oven and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve hot.

Notes

For extra crispiness, broil the wings for 2-3 minutes after glazing, watching carefully to avoid burning.
