  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp yogurt
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken with yogurt, lemon juice, 1 tsp garam masala, turmeric, and salt. Let it rest for at least 30 minutes.

  3. In the same skillet, add the remaining butter, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until fragrant.
  4. Add tomato puree, cumin, chili powder, and remaining garam masala. Cook for 10 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and cooked chicken. Simmer for another 5 minutes.
  6. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan.

Notes

For extra flavor, grill the chicken pieces before adding them to the sauce or add a pinch of fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi) for authentic aroma.
