Spinach and Feta Puff Pastry Twists

These Spinach and Feta Puff Pastry Twists are flaky, cheesy pastries filled with a flavorful spinach and feta mixture, perfect as a savory snack or appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add chopped spinach and cook until wilted, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. In a bowl, combine cooked spinach, feta cheese, cream cheese, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut into strips about 1-inch wide.
  6. Spread the spinach and feta mixture evenly along the center of each strip.
  7. Fold the puff pastry strips in half lengthwise or twist the strips gently to encase the filling.
  8. Place the twists on the prepared baking sheet. Brush each twist with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  9. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
  10. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle some toasted sesame seeds or sumac on top before baking. These twists pair wonderfully with a tangy yogurt dip.
